Hope and healing probably aren't the first things that come to mind when you think about Canada's criminal justice system.  Yet both can be present for offenders and those they have harmed; this is the work of Restorative Justice.  Heather Driedger, director of Parkland Restorative Justice in Prince Albert, shares what she has learned and how we can be involved through programs like Person-to-Person and Circles of Support and Accountability.

Read "Building a Culture of Hope" from Heather Driedger.

Flying Wind Monsters, frozen worlds, pyramids, and priests... What's the point of the stories we tell about the beginning of our world?  Genesis speaks of God creating a world of unity and order, with humans at the center--but not in the role you might expect.  What does it mean to be a human made in the image of God?

Read Origin Stories from Joe Heikman, and check out articles 5 and 6 in the Confession of Faith in the Mennonite Perspective (1995).

What is Scripture? Who wrote it and is it God's word? How might you go about reading scripture?

This Sunday we reflected on our understandings of Scripture through a variety of ways. We watched a readers theater featuring the words of Article 4 of the Mennonite Confession of Faith. Krista preached about scripture and living out the Word. We then practised Lectio Divina together as a way to support one another in rest and renewal in our faith.

Read through the service and give the Lectio Divina a try.
